Managing Visitors with Dogs post COVID

7th February 2022

The Outscape Training team hosted the ‘Managing Visitors with Dogs post COVID’ webinar in October 2021 with guest speaker Stephen Jenkinson.

The premise of this webinar was that with dog ownership up 47% during the pandemic, it would provide a good foundation for knowing how best to manage visitors to outdoor sites who bring their furry companions.

With over two decades of experience in this area across the UK and Ireland, Stephen Jenkinson (Director of Access and Countryside Management) will introduce participants to high level concepts as well as practical on-the-ground good practice on many relevant issues.

Stephen Jenkinson has over 20 years’ experience in the management of walkers with dogs in town, coast and country, to both promote the human and canine health benefits of dog walking, and minimise any adverse impacts on other people, livestock and wildlife. Stephen has worked across the UK and internationally with clients in the public, private and charitable sectors – clients have included The Kennel Club, Coillte Ireland, Forestry Commission, The National Trust, and several National Park Authorities.

This content will relate to fouling, livestock, ground-nesting birds, commercial dog walkers, interactions with other visitors/horses, and the importance of planning greenspace near new housing developments.

The Next Step

We are delighted to be hosting our next online webinar with Stephen this February 22nd following the success of the previous session. Based on feedback from the last webinar we wanted to focus on one of the most popular problems: Dog Fouling. Find out more and book now!
