Environment Strategy for Northern Ireland – Consultation Open

16th October 2019

You are invited to have your say on Northern Ireland’s first Environment Strategy. The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) is seeking views on the potential scope, scale and ambition of this future Environment Strategy.

To help ensure that outdoor recreation, and its many environmental, societal and health and wellbeing benefits, features prominently it is crucial that very clear recommendations are provided during the consultation period which is open until Monday 23rd December 2019.

In addition to a Programme for Government, this important Strategy will determine the environmental priorities for government delivery and the budgets attributed for the foreseeable future. It is important to consider whether the current document fully reflects the needs and aspirations for our environment, particularly in relation to outdoor recreation.
