Cavehill Mountain Biking Trail Pilot
Client: Belfast City Council
The Challenge
To lead a pilot project to test the feasibility of the formal identification and adoption of a number of routes as approved mountain bike trails on the site and to identify a mechanism for the management, inspection, repair and supervision of these trails. It is Belfast City Council’s intention to focus on the ‘Middle Trail’ as an initial pilot.
The Role
To:
- Undertake research into best practice models for the management of natural MTB trails
- Undertake stakeholder consultation
- Develop an evaluation framework
- Prepare a visitor information plan and signage strategy (relevant to integration of the trail)
- Project management of ‘The Middle’ adaptations
