The Challenge
To produce a visitor information plan and new brand for Gosford Forest Park
The Role
To:
- Develop an innovative and engaging brand concept for Gosford Forest Park through:
- Desk research re wider Council tourism / visitor strategy
- Benchmarking against branding utilised within similar outdoor resources within Ireland and Great Britain
- One to one consultation with key stakeholders i.e. Council, Forest Service NI and NIEA to develop the brand proposition
- Engagement with potential project funders (e.g. Tourism NI, Sport NI, Heritage Lottery Fund) to ensure brand concept complies with their broad brand guidelines
- Produce brand guidelines to include:
- Suite of signage including: Entrance, Welcome, Car Parking, Orientation, Trail Head, Interpretation, Visitor Safety, Waymarking
- Tone of Voice
- Mapping including OSNI guidelines
- Incorporation of Visitor Safety in the Countryside Principles and Occupiers Liability Legislation
- Signage Specification including housing / mounting
- Recommended suppliers
- Installation Guide
- Produce Visitor Information Plan to ensure a positive visitor flow which welcomes visitors and encourages them to explore the forest.
- Execute brand within each visitor experience component (as funding allows) – the brand is currently being executed with Gosford Forest Trails project.
