Kilclief and Strangford Community Trail
Client: Strangford Community Association
The Challenge
To prepare a design for an off-road coastal walking trail linking Kilclief beach car park and Kilclief GAA club house and associated pitches. This proposed route connected into a proposed cycle path along the A2 Shore Road to form a looped community trail.
The Role
In order to complete the trail design for the 1km section of off-road walking trail along the coast between the beach car park and GAA pitch we:
- Consulted with landowners, the community and DOE Natural Environment Division (NED)
- Carried out site visits to complete the trail design
- Produced a Construction Prescription Document allowing planning applications to be submitted and future contractors to cost and deliver the works if funding is secured
