Barriers to Participation – A review of why specific communities in Northern Ireland do not use the countryside for recreation 2008

Our aims for this research were twofold:

To examine the barriers limiting participation in countryside recreation for people with a disability, people from minority ethnic communities, and people living within areas of disadvantage

To examine the barriers faced by providers of countryside recreation activities and amenities when working with these communities.
